My name is Alyssa Jean Corsino and I was born on Thursday, September 11, 2008 at 5:44 am in Springfield, MA. I weighed 6 lbs, 10.7 oz and was 19.5 in. in length.
My mommy said I came out very fast. She said that she first went to the hospital at midnight with regular contractions. The doctors told her that she was only 3 cm dilated so they had her walk around for about 2 hours. After that 2 hours she was still only 3 cm so they sent her and daddy home at 2:45 am.
Mommy and daddy got back home at about 3:15 am and by 3:45 am, mommy was having very painful contractions. After daddy called the doctor again, we left the house at about 4:40 am and went back to the hospital. We got to the hospital at about 5:10 am and mommy could barely walk and she felt like she had to push me out.
When the looked at her they said she was fully dilated and I was already starting to come out!! She went from 3 cm to 10 cm in only about 2 hours! So they rushed mommy to the delivery room and mommy pushed for about 20-25 minutes until I was born.
Mommy was very brave and strong because there was no time for any pain medication. She was very tired and sore afterwards but she was happy it was over. I was too because I was all cramped up in her tummy. I couldnt move my arms or kick my feet. The doctors cleaned me up and weighed me and gave me to mommy and everything was better.
While we were at the hospital alot of my friends came to visit. All of my grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins came to visit me. One thing I noticed was that both of my grandfathers have really big heads. I hope that I dont end up with a big head like them!!
We went home from the hospital on Friday afternoon, only about 34 hours after I was born. Mommy was feeling really good and I had no problems so we were allowed to go home early.
Hopefully all of my friends and family come to visit me soon!
